How big should a countertop basin be?
The size of your basin should be proportional to your vanity unit. You want enough counter space on either side for essentials like soap dispensers and other toiletries, so make sure the basin doesn't hang over the edges.
Generally, a width of 400mm to 500mm is standard, but you can absolutely go smaller for en-suites and cloakrooms or larger for a grand master suite.
